Hi there. I came in for a filling a couple of weeks ago. Dr. Lefevre has always been so great with ansering my questions, explaining clearly, and giving me visuals to better understand what is happening. This helps greatly with the anxious feeling I have at the dentist. At this visit, I was also with Mia (I think this was her name). I didn't realize I wasn't going to have Julie so immediately when I seen it was someone different it threw me a bit. And then when I got into the office, she seemed either hesitant, new, or unsure how to support someone having some anxiety. She seems lovely; however, I did not feel reassured or calm during this appointment and I felt the anxiety rising when typically I have been doing a lot better with it. I just wanted to pass this along as hopefully a helpful learning opportunity. In these situations, or possibly with others who have anxiety in this environment, reassurance is important, confidence in what you're doing also helps calm nerves, and introducing yourself and letting the patient know that you are here to help even though Julie isn't available would have been super helpful. When i came to get my bite adjusted, I had someone different assisting Dr. Lefevre (long brown/black hair) and she seemed confident and reassuring even with something simple as checking my bite. The verbals/non-verbals go a long way. I hope this helps and thank you for taking the time to read this.
